Teacher Workshops – April 17 & 18, 2019 @ Dynamic Earth
Teachers spend a day in workshops that empower them to deliver earth sciences based, curriculum-linked activities in their classrooms. While their teachers are attending workshops and getting innovative materials to share with their students, their grades 4 to 8 students are led by MMTS volunteers through mining-related programming that includes underground tours and mining activities at Dynamic Earth. MineOpportunity Challenge – April 15 & 16, 2019 @ Dynamic Earth
High school students get a unique experience that is fun, engaging and educational! MineOpportunity encourages friendly competition and teamwork through a game explores geology, engineering and mining. Students answer mining-related questions and take part in activities that are hands-on and curriculum-based. Discover Sudbury Bus Tours for Elementary Students – April 15-18, 2019
Local students in Grades 4 to 12 will enjoy a Discover Sudbury Field Day! A Discover Sudbury Geology Bus Tour and Dynamic Earth Experience will provide classes from each school board with a unique and interactive experience, opening eyes to the role mining and mining companies have played in building our community and ensuring it maintains its natural beauty for generations to come. Students and teachers will learn how the mining industry has evolved and how the environment has been restored.
